2018 | My Year in Review

-
Last year I wrote a letter to myself to travel more, capture every minute and to just have fun... lets see how I did shall we?

JANUARY:
Kicked off the new year with a trip to the Wild Lights at Dublin Zoo. It was FREEZING COLD but SUPER CUTE.!! This was definitely one of my highlights of  2018 - I just couldn't get over how amazing the lanterns were.! I have more info in a blogpost  that you can read here

January was also the month where I spent a lot of time in the NCT place with my little car -  turns out 3 times is a charm.!

FEBRUARY:
February was the month where Kylie Jenner FINALLY admitted that she was in fact pregnant and the Moran sisters hit LONDON.! I fell in love with London and everything in it.! While we were there there was an art expedition going on where they put up these massive heart shaped balloons 'ChubbyHearts' all over the city. We also went to see Wicked, queued for a half hour to get into the Lego shop (it was so worth it.!), went to a lots of museums and nearly made it to Hogwarts.!

This was the month that I got back to doing YouTube videos and my blogging dreams came true when I got to collaborate with Pretty Little Thing.!! (Read the blogpost here)

MARCH:
March 2018 will forever be remembered as the month Ireland ran out of bread. The Beast from the East hit, we got snowed in and well the whole country went crazy and bulk bought bread.! Snow days from work resulted in our mini snowman Norman.!!

March of course brought Paddy's Day and this year we celebrated in the Hills of Donegal with a family wedding!! (my first wedding would you believe since being a flowergirl.!)
APRIL:
This was a month all about nails.! I done a gel nails refresher course with Young Nails (the best place to learn btw - more info in this blogpost). I also went to the Irish Beauty Show AND I got to paint my nails twice in the month.! (yes that' a highlight as in my job there's no nails, no makeup.!)

I also got to collabrate with Paperless Post on my blog.! (blogpost here.!)

MAY:
In May me and my sister brought our mam to Rome.! It was lovely to walk around and see all the historic buildings like the Colosseum, The Pantheon and The Trevi Fountain. I will say I was so surprised that Rome wasn't that Holy.! I was also a little disappointed with the Sistine Chapel too - it is NOT like they describe in your history books.! We ended up getting stranded there for an extra two days as there was an air traffic control strike but that just meant that we got to drink more wine and eat more ice cream.! ...We also had the taxi ride of death on the way to the airport but that's a story for another day

We also took apart in Darkness into Light 💛

JUNE:
June bought with it sunshine and me and my sister went to Summer in the City with Rita Ora & The Chainsmokers. It was SO good - going to a Chainsmokers concert needs to be on everyone's 2019 to do list - they were amazing.! There is nothing better than listening to good music in the sunshine with your bestie ...and Rita Ora hugged us.!

JULY:
July I got back to making videos - I actually made my first swatching video *link* (they are surprisingly harder to film than they look.!) This was the month one of my favorite outfits was featured on Dresses.ie too!

The end of July was the start of 3 weeks off from work and the holiday prep began.!

AUGUST:
OMG Dubrovnik was AMAZING.! Me, my mam and my sister spent a week there - it was just a really relaxing holiday.... can I go back please?! Fun fact: Dubrovnik is where King's Landing is set in the Game of Thrones. We'd go to the beach or lay by the pool with a cocktail during the day and explore the Old Town in the evening. Its such a nice town - its pedestrian only and SO clean you'd swear they mopped the streets every night.!

We also spent some time down in Cork and walked through the gardens at  the Fota Wildlife Park - it's really beautiful down there.! August was also the month I found out I was longlisted for the Blog Awards.

SEPTEMBER:
September was a relatively quiet month with lots of nail appointments and I got the great news that I was a finalist in the 2018 Blog Awards Ireland for Best Beauty Blog.! *yay*

OCTOBER:
October is my favorite month and not just because it's my birthday month but it's HALLOWEEN.!! I absolutely love Halloween and this year I dressed up as a dear that was tragically shot in the head & a candy skull.! I also started college again - well only a digital marketing module which would become a vital life lesson that going back to college is not for me.!

AND I went to the Blog Awards and I WON BRONZE for best beauty blog.! By far one of my favorite moments this year was hearing 'bronze winner: Fake Nails & Mascara.!'. I was so surprised and while I'm on the subject so grateful for everyone who reads this blog - thank you, thank you, thank you.!

NOVEMBER:
New York, New York.! The Moran's jetted off to New York in November and it was great.! Last time I was there (remember my NYC vlog?) it was way to warm to explore the city but November was perfect.! I watched some good in flight movies (Crazy Rich Asians was excellent.!), went to Times Square, saw the big Christmas tree in Rockefeller Centre, went to my favorite museum (Natural History Museum - where they made a xmas tree from origami animals), FINALLY got to see the Alice in Wonderland memorial in Central Park, saw Aladdin on Broadway and bought myself a little Louis Vuitton treat in Macy's.!! We had such a lovely trip... I have a blogpost all about it coming soon.

DECEMBER:
December was full of Christmas preparations. I was SUPER slow at organising myself this year and everyone's present was running on the last minute side of things but I got my shit together just in time.! My favorite part of the month was putting up our Christmas tree and adding all the decorations that we've collected on our travels during the year while we caught up on watching the Late Late Toy Show - no matter how old you get the toy show never gets old.!

I also got to paint my nails all festive and wear a sparkly gold dress to my work Christmas party.!

So that was my year... 2018 was full of travels and making memories with my family.  Here's hoping 2019 will  be full of just as many trips (if not more) and be just as fun.!

Happy New Year Everyone.!
